Wednesday, June Ehrlich called me after coming home from the hospital.  She asked if parish members might be able to help with meals for a period of time.  I put out a request and within moments Julie Spanton offered to coordinate and many of you stepped forward to help.  Because I sent this out on a parish-wide email list, Fr. Steve Capitelli, former seminarian here, observed the communication taking place on-line.  Here’s what he shared with me:

Scott, I've been sitting here at my computer writing my sermon for Sunday and as people have responded to your call for help for the Ehrlich's, I have also seen some of their messages. I can't help but be impressed with response in such a short time. I've always known that St. Mary's was a great parish, but this response to the needs of another member say why. It really is a Christian community. God bless the people of St. Mary's.
