GratitudeWhat a gift to be a part of this community of faith!
I continue
to see the Holy Spirit at work in so many ways. Parishioners reaching out to one another to offer condolences, congratulations,
a vist, help with a home-cooked meal, and the hand of friendship.
Ministries that are led and carried out
by parish members to the benefit of the entire Body of Christ are also cause for gratitude - Sunday school, music ministry,
Worship Center, youth group, evangelism, outreach and service to others, the 'behind-the-scenes' work of altar guild,
care for our finances, stewardship awareness and growth, and the list goes on and on...
The building project
continues to move ahead, prompting praise and thanksgiving. Talk about gratitude! Many have contributed so much
by way of time, expertise, and and in attending many meetings and discussions. Many have contributed financially
to the project, and they continue to do so in a variety of ways. All of their gifts present and future makes possible
what we build. Of course the whole reason for the building is what prompts the most gratitude of all - the gift of new
life we have discovered in the good news of Jesus Christ. With the First Epistle of Peter we pray, "Praised
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has bestowed on us in Christ every spiritual blessing in the heavens..."
Every blessing, bestowed upon us, in Christ.
That's why there is a St. Mary's, that's why we
do what we do, and that's why we have the inpsiration, power, and enthusiasm to do it. Gratitude doesnt' even
begin to describe this amazing gift! Happy Thanksgiving - remember the gift of gratitude!
