Don’t forget to “Fall Back” this Saturday evening. Daylight Savings will end, so set your clock back an hour. You are, of course, welcome to show up for church an hour early, but I would recommend you get the extra sleep instead.
A couple short announcements:
- This Sunday is our All Saints Evensong. Bring your pumpkins to church in the morning, and then return at 5 p.m. for singing and prayers lit by our pumpkins carved with saint symbols.
- Please make sure anything you send to St. Mary’s is addressed to PO Box 126. Anything addressed to our street address won’t make it to the church.
- Confirmation classes begin next week. Classes for adults are Tuesdays at 6 p.m. November 5, 12 and 19. Classes for youth are Sundays at 11:30 a.m. November 10, 17 and December 1. You can come to class even if you don’t want to be confirmed but would like to learn more about Christianity and the Episcopal Church.
For the next several weeks we will have a collection bin in the Parish Hall. The items inside will form a care basket for Deacon Esther. Please bring cards and non-perishable items to fill the bin. We will be shipping the care basket to her at the end of November so she has it before she takes her finals in December.
Finally, I want to thank the Stewardship Team for a wonderful campaign and truly fantastic celebration. Thank you to the 48 people/households who have turned in pledge cards so far. We have six new pledges this year and 20 people increased their pledge! Thank you so much! If you haven’t turned in your pledge card yet, please do so this Sunday. We will likely start calling people next week who have not yet turned in a pledge card.
I am truly awed and humbled by the trust that each and every person who gives to St. Mary’s offers the church. We in turn do our very best to be clear and transparent on how we use these funds to enable ministry, formation and worship at St. Mary’s and beyond. Once we have the pledges in we will do our best to form a budget for 2020 and continue to serve as Christ’s hands and feet in the world.
Prayers and blessings,
