UPDATE:  4.5.2020

After meeting with the Bishop and the diocesan priests online, the Bishop has instructed that church services be held online indefinitely. We will be worshipping with the Diocese for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday and will then reevaluate at the end of April. Please let Mother Pippa know what you think about Diocesan worship. Updated links will be provided as they become known.

Online worship is not ideal, but it does keep us all healthy and safe. Whenever we return to worshiping at St. Mary’s, we will celebrate the first Sunday as if it were Easter Day.

COVID-19 VIRUS CONCERNS AFFECTING PARISH SERVICES & ACTIVITIES:

St. Mary’s Parish,

I met with the Bishop and the diocesan priests this morning via Zoom, and, as a result of the Bishop’s instructions, want to let you know that church services will be held online indefinitely, and the Bishop will look at that again on March 31st.

At this time all groups larger than 10, and the Bishop recommends any group larger than 5, will not be meeting in person. As such, we will postpone tomorrow’s talk with Cantor Martin.

Services and formation will be offered via Zoom, including:

Wednesday Morning Prayer at 9:00 a.m.               https://zoom.us/j/708675077

Wednesday Living Compass at 9:30 a.m.              https://zoom.us/j/530110377

Wednesday Evening Prayer at 6:00 p.m.               https://zoom.us/j/942283762

Sunday, March 22 at 8:00 a.m.                              https://zoom.us/j/700237041

Sunday, March 22 at 10:00 a.m.                            https://zoom.us/j/444846950

FaceBook Link for services:                                   https://www.facebook.com/St-Marys-Episcopal-Church-670614162955490/

As we try to reach out to people and care for one another, I’d also invite you to fill out a survey either by replying to this email or by going to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/STVCSHD

The questions are:

1. While we are socially isolating, what will be the hardest thing to be away from in terms of life and worship at St. Mary's?

2. What ways of remote communication do you use (phone, FB, Twitter, Instagram, email, other)?

3. While socially isolating, what’s likely to be hardest for you in daily life?

4. Would you be able to reach out to people at this time? (calling people, running errands or providing IT help)

Office staff will be working from home, but please be mindful of keeping up with your pledge at this time. We will continue to check our mail, so you can mail your pledge commitment to the church.  If you receive a lay ministry reminder via email from our Ministry Scheduler Pro program, please disregard the reminder until we know when live services will resume.

Please also contact me if you have any needs or concerns.

Prayers and blessings,

Mother Pippa

UPDATE: 3.13.2020

Dear St. Mary's Parish Members and friends,

Waukesha School District has closed this week, and I am following their pattern and cancelling church this Sunday. I'll offer services on Facebook Live (https://www.facebook.com/St-Marys-Episcopal-Church-670614162955490/) at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and all meetings will be cancelled or conducted via Zoom. This is in line with three other Waukesha County Episcopal Churches, and I would rather be overly cautious and keep people safe. Thank you!

COVID-19 VIRUS CONCERNS:  3.12.2020

Due to concerns regrading the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, St. Mary's will be implementing the following changes:

Holy Eucharist: Since receiving the Eucharist in one kind (either the bread or the wine) is a full communion with Christ, we will be only offering wafers at the altar rail during communion until further notice due to concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus.

Sharing the Peace of Christ: In giving the peace, it is not necessary to exchange the peace physically by hugging and shaking hands. A bow, flashing the peace sign, touching elbows, waving or use of verbal or non-verbal cues are all acceptable ways of sharing the peace of Christ.

Offering Plate:  We will not be passing the offering plate during the offertory.  Please put your offering in the plate at the entrance of the church either on your way into or out of the church.

Fellowship Hour: We will be suspending coffee hour after church services until further notice. If you are signed up for coffee hour in the next few weeks, consider yourselves temporarily relieved of duty.

Thank you for your cooperation.
