From Mother Pippa 7.8.2020

The numbers are in and we have raised $2,776.13 from this year’s Strawberry Fest! That is our profits after making 135 pies (plus receiving directed donations) and I want to thank Elizabeth Hoffman and Liz Riedel for an outstanding job! It was our 33rd Strawberry Fest and I am so glad to know that we are continuing to support the work of the Haiti Project and specifically the work of St. Marc’s in Jeanette, Haiti. Bravo!!!

Speaking of numbers, do you know that we have an average of 89 people who attend online virtual services? Not everyone joins us at 9 a.m., but we have parishioners who join us from all over the country, former parishioners, and friends of parishioners as well as St. Mary’s folk worshipping together on Sundays. That is fantastic, and I want to thank you all for making this work.
We are still taking the steps we need to take so that we can receive permission from the Diocese to start 10 person services in mid-July. However, I do want to let you know that the infection rate has risen in Waukesha county (nearly doubling in the last month), and needs to go down before we will start having those 10 person services. Even after we start the services, if the infection rate climbs above 50 cases per 100,000 residents, we will switch back to the five person services that we are currently broadcasting.
We received the technology recommendations from the Diocese and are working to make the Sunday services more professional and seamless, and I plan to continue broadcasting service at 9 a.m. indefinitely.

We do have concreted communion, and anyone who would like to receive Home Communion should please call or email me.

Finally, in keeping with this numbers-heavy column, we are getting ready to put together our Stewardship Team. This group would meet July through October to plan and run our annual Stewardship Campaign. We have a program that’s already been put together by the Episcopal Church, and are looking for some help with planning, writing, and distributing material. Please contact myself or Carl E. if you are interested.

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
